Sarah Crail - piano, clarinet

Sarah is a lifelong musician who comes from a deeply musical family. Because she has been playing music by ear since she was 5 years of age, her musical development has been extensive. She started officially taking piano lessons, after teaching herself by ear initially, at 12 years of age. That same year, she began playing the clarinet in school band.

She attended high school at Pendleton County High School in Northern Kentucky under the instruction and mentorship of the great Tanya Bromley (instructor at Morehead University) and Anita Hunt (Cincinnati Brass Band, Conductor Emeritus). She participated in the Northern Kentucky Select Band 5 years consecutively, All-state Choir in 1997, and composed clarinet ensemble and progressive piano scores for performance. Receiving a music scholarship in 1999, she went on to attend Northern Kentucky University, majoring in Music Education and participating in the exclusive Northern Kentucky Chamber Choir. She traveled to Great Britain, touring with the Chamber Choir.

After attending a year, she took off time to raise her three children and obtained a Business Management degree, but picked up again in 2013, focusing her studies on Music Therapy and voice. She also dabbled in music technology, continuing her passion for creating ad-lib music.

She was part of the Next Chapter Church (known as 3M1) praise and worship band for 9 years as a keyboardist/vocalist and the cover band “Les Nessman and the Finneytown Brass” for about a year. She has given private piano lessons off and on for a total of 5 years.
